Chapter 3: March 6th, 1992
When Cesar woke up, the room was almost completely dark save for the light of the clock. Hours had passed, long enough for the sun to set and for the outside noise of passing cars to die down. Everything quiet, except of course for the snoring that woke him up. Normally not an issue, Mark’s fallen asleep plenty of times while the two were just hanging out, but it was almost deafening now that Cesar had his face positioned right up against his neck.
Still cute, Cesar thought. Like a big teddy bear, just…louder.
Their bodies were in the same position they were left in when they fell asleep, Mark’s arm draped over Cesar’s side, a hand pressing him against his warm chest. Even after sleeping for a few hours, neither of them had budged an inch.
Adorable. He really tired himself out just like that.
The comfort of Mark’s hand pressed into his back and the gentle rising and falling of the brunette’s chest made Cesar wish he could stay in that bed with him forever. Yeah, he snores, but so what? What he would give to be wrapped up in Mark’s warmth for the rest of his life…
Literally keeping me warm at night. How romantic.
A hand reached to stroke Mark’s cheek. It would be a shame to wake him up when he was sleeping so peacefully, but Cesar just couldn’t help himself. He ran his thumb over the plush skin, cupped it in his hand, playfully squished it…and Mark just kept on snoring. Dead to the world, sleeping like he just worked twelve hours straight and then ran a marathon.
This gave Cesar an evil little idea. As much as he wanted to stay put and enjoy his boyfriend’s warmth, and his cute and squishy sleeping face, who knows when he’d get another chance like this? He pried the boy’s heavy arm off and set it down on the bed, slowly so as to not wake him (as if anything could), and untangled their legs, wondering just how far he could take this.
All the way out of bed. Still nothing.
Such a heavy sleeper. Poor guy must be exhausted, Cesar thought to himself. Of course, I can’t actually do anything to him while he’s asleep. I would never!
He’d feel guilty about disturbing his sleep, but he’d just have to wake up Mark when his own little “surprise” was ready.
